- Hinge: This will allow you to move the subject back and forth without changing your topic, title and hook.
- The hook points to the problem
- Example Hook: Discover how to ditch worry and experience lasting peace!
- The main idea teases a solution
- Example Main Idea: To experience lasting peace give your worries to the Prince of Peace
- The main idea answers, “What is/are the possible solutions to the problem?”
Sermon Body:
Points – Build tension and create interest
- A directional statement that builds tension toward the main idea
- Statements that people can personalize and internalize
- Example Point: When I worry it results in panic, when I pray it results in peace
Verses – Resolve the tension with the text
Illustration – Teach and illustrate how to apply it
Application – Cast vision and inspire
Sermon Outtro:
Land The Plane – Tie everything together
- Paint the picture of what it would look like if someone applied everything from the sermon
